Meet our Team!

Nancy Kramer, Founder – Oddly enough, the events of 9-11 are responsible for Nancy getting into the vacation rental business. Nancy was a flight attendant with United Airlines, which offered 4 year furloughs to keep layoffs at a minimum. After 32 years of international flight, she decided to take the opportunity to try her hand at something new. Nancy returned home and started renting her Paris apartment as a vacation rental. A few months later, she decided to rent her San Diego bay condo as well and Nancy’s Vacation Rentals was hatched. Over time, Nancy began to take on requests from other owners to book their vacation homes. In less than 5 years, “trying my hand at something new” grew to a full fledged business with over 25 vacation properties. Now we have over 50 rentals and a fun family business! Favorite Lunch: Cafe 976, Pacific Beach. Best Sunset: On the balconies of our Riviera Villas condos with a glass of wine. Must Do: Bike riding on the boardwalks in Mission Beach, Mission Bay, and Pacific Beach.

Betty McKie – Betty is Nancy’s mom, and our bookkeeper extraordinaire! She keeps us organized and handles billing, owners’ statements and city tax payments. And keep us all on our toes! Betty is brilliantly hard working, sharp as a tack, and a lovely person to share a meal on a beautiful San Diego afternoon! Betty’s Favorite Burger: In-N-Out. Best View: Cabrillo National Monument, Point Loma. Must Do: Early morning walk on the beach with a fresh cup of coffee!

Jeremy Wansor – Jeremy was born in La Jolla and has always felt that San Diego was his home. After moving away as a kid, Jeremy returned for college and graduated from the University of California, San Diego. Jeremy then joined the family business (Nancy is his aunt). It has been a blast for Jeremy to work his aunt, and grandma on a daily basis. Jeremy’s passions include traveling, sailing, hiking and of course, spending time with his wife Gisenyi and their dog and crazy cat. As a travel fanatic, Jeremy highly values a local contact wherever he goes and is always happy to share his local knowledge to help you plan your vacations. Favorite Sushi: Sushi Ota. Favorite Craft Beer Destination: Hamiltons Tavern. Favorite Pastime: Sailing or boating on San Diego Bay.

Sarah Woolley – Sarah is a native San Diegan. She has worn many hats during her long career, from the mortgage business and paralegal work to caregiving.  Since she joined Team NVR in 2011 she has had the opportunity to share her love of San Diego with people that come here from all over the world!  From the beautiful beaches just west of downtown to the many wonderful attractions found here, including her Two Favorite Attractions: the San Diego Zoo and Birch Aquarium.  She spent many days of her youth enjoying Belmont Park riding the roller coaster and swimming at The Plunge. The Plunge, built in 1925, is California’s largest indoor heated pool and was recently renovated.  Her Favorite Restaurants: in the beach area are Tower 23 – Pacific Beach, The Local –  Pacific Beach and Saska’s – Mission Beach. She can be found tending her garden and enjoying walks at Mission Bay or the beach just north of Wind’n’Sea Beach in La Jolla. Or she might be relaxing at the Best Tea and Sandwich Shop in Town: Cafe 976 – 976 Felspar in Pacific Beach. Eclectic atmosphere. Small, lovely outdoor seating in a comfortable garden setting.

Becky Gutierrez – Becky is originally from Dayton, Ohio.  Becky had the luxury as a young adult to be able to travel to many vacation spots through her family’s business.  Her love for traveling led her to go to work for US Airways.  In a forever changing industry and many relocations, she was prompted to make a career change, and that led her to where she is today.  Becky feels very blessed to live in such a beautiful city, working for a family owned business that makes you feel as though you are a part of their family.  And she loves helping guests find their special place to stay!   Becky’s Favorite Dinner Place: Filippi’s Pizza.  Must Do:  Riding bikes around Mission Beach and taking a walk on the beach in the early morning with your furry friend! (Becky’s furry friend is named Sarah!).  Favorite Happy Hour: Pacific Beach Bar and Grill between 3 – 6 for great food for less.

Jason Kong – Jason hails from Atlanta, Georgia. In Atlanta, Jason found a taste for hospitality as he successfully managed the 2nd tallest hotel in the U.S. He left “Hotlanta” to continue to fulfill his passion in this field, and to enjoy milder climates and endless activities in America’s Finest City! You might catch him surfing, playing sports, restaurant hopping, or visiting the local dog park with his French Bulldog, Bruno. Favorite Pastime: Going to a Padres game. Favorite Place for Dinner and/or Drinks:  Dirty Birds and Tipsy Crow. Favorite Local Secret: Quartyard dog park downtown.

Angelina Titus – Angelina started her life’s journey in San Diego, where she was stationed shortly after joining the Navy.  She met and married her Jarhead (Marine) and together they moved from the Midwest to the far East Coast, and along the way had two daughters in tow.  They couldn’t pack fast enough when the opportunity to move back to San Diego presented itself.  Moving back was like the peace you feel when coming home, after an extremely long journey.  Angelina’s Favorite San Diego Pastime: Hitting the hiking trails at Torrey Pines Reserve with the family, and pretending my 15 year old daughter actually wants to be there too. Favorite Place for Dinner with a View: George’s in La Jolla. Best Family Friendly Brewery: Ballast Point. A San Diego Local’s Secret: Cabrillo National Monument Cave

Kelly Koleos – Kelly fell in love with San Diego over 5 years ago while on vacation in this magical city by the sea.  A Florida native and a former Coloradoan, Kelly feels very passionate about living near the ocean and the mountains.  San Diego is the perfect city for this laid back, hippie girl. She proudly calls herself a resident of California today. Favorite San Diego Pastime: Hiking a trail with her 2 furry children or paddleboarding on Mission Bay. Favorite Place for Dinner and Dancing: Cafe Sevilla. Best Coffee: Cafe Bella in OB. A San Diego Local’s Secret: Secret trail to Black’s Beach (I’m not telling!)

Breanna Ybarra – Breanna moved to San Diego 16 years ago and is proud to call this gorgeous city her home. She enjoys taking her furbaby to local dog park, with her future husband, Santos. They will be tying the knot in October, 2015 and couldn’t be more thrilled! Favorite San Diego Pastime: Shopping at the local Spring Valley, outdoor flea market. Favorite Place for Dinner: S.D. Tap Room. Favorite Place for Music and Drinks: P.B. Shore Club. A San Diego Local’s Secret: Poway Railroad

Ashley Tickell – Ashley is originally from Toronto, Canada. All of the weirdly placed ‘u’s in this blog are due to the fact that she is Canadian. Don’t  judge. She cannot shake her roots! Embrace the quirky spelling! To continue…following her creative whim, Ashley left Toronto and spent some time living in New York City before moving to the West Coast. In Los Angeles, she met her now husband, Jeremiah. During a romantic weekend in San Diego, they stood by the Ocean Beach Pier and decided they should leave LA immediately. 7 months later, they packed their bags, grabbed their cat, Boo, and headed South. They have been living joyfully in San Diego ever since! Ashley’s Favourite San Diego Pastime: Packing a picnic and hitting the beach with Hubby and Surfboards in tow! Favourite Place for Dinner and Dancing: Humphrey’s. Best Coffee: Pappalecco’s Nutella Coffee. A San Diego Local’s Secret: The Spruce Street Suspension Bridge
