Fall Festivals in San Diego to Keep Summer Alive!

It’s hard to believe how quickly the summer is flying by! We’re heading toward August already and all of those plans, family getaways and day trips that you had dreamed up when summer began just don’t seem to be getting checked off that list! What happened?! As much as we shake our heads in wonder, there is no need to fret. Here in San Diego, the fall months are filled with all sorts of festivals and events to enjoy! So if the summer got away from you or you’re just looking to stretch it out that much longer, here is our list of terrific fall festivals and events in San Diego. We’re sure these will put a smile on your face and give you that laid back summer feeling of which you didn’t quite get enough!

Adam’s Avenue Street Fair

The Adam’s Avenue Street Fair is Southern California’s largest two day free music festival and is an annual tradition! Each year, this community driven event draws thousands of locals and visitors to take in the music and festivities. With hundreds of vendors from food to arts and crafts, 4 beer gardens as well as carnival rides, this festival has something for everyone. And of course, it boasts over 100 musical performances across multiple stages over the two day event. Check it out on September 24th and 15th, 2016.

Julian Apple Days Festival

If you’re looking to spend some time in a beautiful part of Southern California with less of the bustling beach crowd, make your way to Julian. An hour east of San Diego, Julian is tucked away in the beautiful Cuyamaca mountains. The Julian Apple Days Festival came from humble beginnings in 1909. On September 24th and 25th there will be music, dancing, activities and games for children and most importantly, Julian’s famous apple pie! Enjoy the beauty, history and fun of this wonderful family event.

Pacific Beach Festival

The Pacific Beach Festival brings fun in the sun to the next level. Once a year, the Pacific Beach neighbourhood fills with vendors, food, music and friendly competition. Enjoy shopping and local musicians as you back and forth from the sand to the street. And be sure to check  out the Best of the Beach Fish Taco Contest and the Pro Surf Competition for a real taste of Southern California.

San Diego Restaurant Week

This year, from September 25th to October 2nd, over 180 restaurants in San Diego open their doors to guests for San Diego Restaurant Week as they offer them incredible offers for dinners, lunches, prix fixes and other tasty treats! If you’re a foodie, this week is perfect for you. Spend your days roaming from one restaurant to another, enjoying fantastic food and drinks, in great neighbourhoods that you can explore as you go.


San Diego Kids Expo and Fair

The Del Mar Fairgrounds will come to life with the buzz of the San Diego Kids Expo and Fair on October 15th and 16th, 2016. This event is fun filled for the kiddos, but also gives parents and even parents-to-be opportunities to check out over 150 vendors that provide business to better the lives of children! Free music lessons, karate and dance showcases, cooking tips and soccer and swim coaches will all be there to share their time and expertise with you and the kids. And while you’re finding those perfect lessons and products for the wee ones, let them enjoy bouncing castles, wheels on water and laser tag, just to name a few fun activities!
